Clif’s January DVD Picks

Bad Taste Theater Presents: Worse Than Evil
Release Date: 1/11/05

Four bad movies for the price of one mediocre movie! How can you beat that? Actually, I haven’t seen any of the flicks in this package, and am recommending this based solely on the assumption that anything that is “worse than evil” must be pretty good.

G-String Vampire
Release Date: 1/11/05

Sometimes you can tell a good movie simply by the title. I’m not sure if that is the case here, and I don’t really care. I just want to see this movie. Repeatedly.

Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story
Release Date: 1/18/05

What has ten legs and nine arms? That’s right, it’s Def Leppard! Hysteria is the “rockumentary” of one of the most mulleted bands of the 80’s. It follows five young lads as they come of age in jolly old England and then become huge rock stars, which young lads from England tend to do every ten years or so. The most memorable event in the life of Def Leppard occurred when drummer Rick Allen lost an arm in a car wreck. The DRUMMER lost an ARM! That would force many bands to either call it quits or, more likely, find a new drummer, but not Def Leppard. With the help of a specially rigged drum set Rick Allen continues to play drums for the band.

Inside Pink Floyd: Critical Review 1967 - 1974
Release Date: 1/18/05

Everything you ever wanted to know about the band Pink Floyd is exposed here in this documentary. Unfortunately the DVD does not come with a laser light show, but if you’ve got a laser pointer and a couple of handfuls of psychedelic mushrooms you should be okay.
