MEMORIAL

As you know Dumb Distraction is a website for movie reviews and recommendations but what you may not know is that it is also a monument and tribute to my friend, Adam Jensen. Adam was great person and always had a way of making you feel like everything was cool no matter what chaos was going on in your life at the time. Adam was also an extremely creative musician and the year that I spent playing in a band with him will always be cherished. It was Adam who told me about so many things that were just, “another dumb distraction” and as a result that is where we came up with our band name and later, the name for this site. Sadly Adam was taken from us in early 2003. I had the privilege of mixing the last recording he ever did the night before his memorial service so I could give a copy to his mother and it was one of the hardest, most emotional things I ever did.

So this is for you Adam. I hope that you look down on us from time to time and smile in that self deprecating way that made everyone who knew you love you.
